Chubby Cheeks Spring Valley High School began the new academic year 2023 – 2024 with invoking the blessings of the Almighty in the Eucharistic celebration held on 7 June, 2023. The theme for the Eucharistic celebration was ‘Let’s sing to another year’. The day also marked the birthday of our dear founder and headmistress Ma’am Selena D’Souza. All the catholic students and staff joined together in praising the Almighty for another year and also prayed for the good health of our headmistress.

The main celebrant for the Eucharistic celebration was Rev. Fr. Menoy who began the mass by highlighting the importance of invoking God before starting anything new in our lives, Rev. Fr. Nigel and Rev. Fr. Malcolm were the con celebrants for the mass. During the homily Fr. Menoy stressed on how students can achieve their goals by keeping God as the prime focus of their every activity. He also spoke of a few qualities of Ma’am Selena and how she has been working tirelessly for the institution which has grown over the years, now branching out into the current higher secondary.

Students of Std IX and X participated in the choir and sang melodious hymns apt to the theme. The liturgy was also well organized. The headmistress did the first reading and the students and teachers participated in various other prayers. The students and staff participated reverently in the Eucharistic celebration which concluded with the singing of the hymn Jesus is the joy of living.
